OCR PDF
Get any file to the size you need. Privately.
1 Open this page and add the file. OCR PDF starts in the browser you already have open.2 Run the tool. If this version cannot do the job honestly, it says so instead of inventing a result.3 Download the file that was built on this device. Closing the tab drops the bytes.
About this tool
OCR PDF means reading the pixels of a scan and adding a real text layer. This version does not include that engine, so it will not guess the words and hide the guesses under the picture. The guide explains what a text layer is. When you do use OCR, prefer a tool that runs on your machine. Uploading a passport scan to make it searchable is how that scan leaves your hands.
OCR PDF stays on this device. The download is the copy you keep, and Weesize does not store a second one. Close the tab when you are finished and the bytes are gone.
- No upload: no scan is uploaded to a recognition service from this page.
- Speed: the file does not travel to a server and back, so the wait is only the work itself.
- Quality: the original is kept when the new file would be worse or is not actually smaller.
FAQ
Does “OCR PDF” upload my file?
OCR PDF reads the file in this tab. There is no upload step and no account.
What will “OCR PDF” actually change?
No text layer is added. Search will not find words that were only pixels.
When is “OCR PDF” the wrong job?
Do not trust a claim of perfect OCR with no way to check the text. This page will not make that claim.
How do I check the result of “OCR PDF”?
Try to select a word on the scan. If you cannot, there is still no text layer, which is the expected result here.
Can I run “OCR PDF” with Wi-Fi off?
Load this page, then turn Wi-Fi off and run OCR PDF again. A finished result is the proof that the file was not sent anywhere.
